Booking Terms
10. Booking Fees
A booking fee of £200 per reserved session day is required in order to secure and confirm tattoo appointment dates unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The booking fee constitutes consideration for the reservation of studio time within the artist’s schedule and reflects the administrative, organisational, and commercial costs associated with allocating specific dates to an individual client.
Tattoo appointments require the studio to reserve substantial blocks of time in advance, often preventing those dates from being offered to other clients. The booking fee therefore represents compensation for the reservation of diary availability together with associated planning, preparation, administration, and scheduling commitments.
Booking fees are non refundable under normal circumstances and are not treated as freely returnable deposits. Booking fees are paid in order to secure appointment dates and reserve diary time specifically for the client making the booking.
However, where the studio cancels your appointment, moves your appointment without your agreement, or is otherwise unable to provide the booked service for reasons attributable to the studio, the booking fee will ordinarily be either transferred to a replacement date or refunded, depending on the circumstances and your preference.
11. Rescheduling by the Client
If you need to move your appointment, the studio asks that you provide as much notice as possible. As a general guideline, at least 72 hours notice should be given.
A first rearrangement with adequate notice will usually be accommodated without requiring a fresh booking fee, provided the circumstances are reasonable and the request is not part of a repeated pattern of cancellations, postponements, or date changes.
Repeated rescheduling, especially on larger projects involving multiple reserved dates, may require a new booking fee in order to secure replacement dates.
12. Cancellations, No Shows, and Late Arrival
Where a client cancels with insufficient notice, fails to attend, or arrives so late that the appointment can no longer reasonably proceed, the booking fee may be retained by the studio as compensation for reserved studio time, administrative handling, and the commercial loss associated with holding diary space that may not be refillable at short notice.
If you are running late, you should contact the studio as soon as possible. Reasonable lateness may be accommodated where practical, but this cannot be guaranteed and is always subject to the time available, the scale of the planned work, and the safe and practical operation of the day.
If there is no communication and you do not attend within a reasonable time, your appointment may be treated as a no show and the booking fee may be forfeited.
13. Fairness and Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or limit any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under applicable United Kingdom law.
The studio’s booking fee and cancellation provisions are intended to reflect a fair and proportionate allocation of risk associated with reserving specific appointment dates, preparing for appointments, and the commercial impact of short notice cancellations or non attendance.
Where the law requires a refund, credit, transfer, or alternative remedy, these terms shall be interpreted and applied accordingly.
14. Design Work and Preparation
Booking fees may also reflect diary reservation, consultation, planning, preparation time, and the commercial risk of holding dates that may become difficult or impossible to refill if cancelled.
Tattoo design work forms part of the broader creative process associated with each project. Designs are typically developed in proximity to the scheduled appointment date in order to ensure that scale, placement, and composition are tailored appropriately to the client’s anatomy and the artistic requirements of the piece.
As a result, designs are not generally sent out in advance. This approach ensures that the final design is reviewed collaboratively in person and that any refinements can be made immediately prior to commencing the tattoo.
15. Refunds Where the Studio Is at Fault
If the studio cancels your appointment, materially changes the booking without your agreement, or otherwise cannot provide the appointment through no fault of your own, the studio will ordinarily offer either:
- transfer of the booking fee to an alternative agreed date, or
- refund of the booking fee
The appropriate remedy will depend on the circumstances, the stage of the booking, and any agreement reached with you at the time.
